Challenges
Following Microsoft’s acquisition and rebrand of Lync to Skype for Business, the team ran a series of investigations with the goal of constructing a unified IA model across all Skype consumer and enterprise desktop apps (Mac, Windows and Web).
The main challenge was where to achieve meaningful consistency and familiarity, bringing strengths of both domains together without overloading one or taking anything away from the other.
