Microsoft Teams

Role

Led design for various features for a new consumer focussed, “mobile first” version of the Microsoft Teams app, including chat IA, tasks and live location sharing,

Challenges

One of the overarching working goals with this work was to apply experience gained from crafting consumer product experiences in Skype, to the (then) new non-work version of Teams, focussing on scenarios for family and activity groups, broadening the appeal of the Teams product across work and non-work aspects of life.

Live location sharing

Part of a suite of new features for families, live location sharing was introduced for mobile and desktop as a way to facilitate easy coordination of typical family activities and places in realtime.

Mobile Chat IA concepts

Translating the often complex information architecture originally envisioned for enterprise customers, into a simple, more consumer-friendly structure for intuitive switching between chat and management of shared artifacts naturally accumulated in a typical group chat space.

Mobile tasks app

A simple, lightweight tasks app intuitively integrated into chat and synchronized with all the usual touch points across your Microsoft account; create, share and complete tasks on go.
